Violet

$8.50

Sweet, simple, and utterly easy-going, Violet is the perfect summer tee. I knit mine to wear over my summer dresses on those not-quite-warm-enough days, but Violet looks good styled in any way. Toss her on with shorts or linen pants or pair her with high-waisted jeans. Violet looks amazing worn any way you can think of.

Violet is knit seamlessly from the top down. You begin by casting on for the back neck. Increases are worked to shape the shoulders. After completing the back yoke, stitches for the fronts are picked up from the back shoulders. Simple shaping creates a crew neckline. After the front yoke is complete, the body of Violet is knit in the round. A sweet and simple band of lace decorates the bottom. A cropped length makes Violet perfect for wearing over dresses or high-waisted bottoms. Short sleeves add the finishing touch.

The lace patterning is both written and charted.

The yarn used for the sample, Modern Deco Sport, is labeled as a sport weight, but knits up at a fingering weight gauge. Test knitters used both fingering weight and sport weight yarns with great success. I think a fingering weight to light sport weight yarn will work best for Violet.
